Backend PHP Developer


What’s the Backend PHP Developer role all about?

Orlo is a fast growing technology company and is looking to expand the Development team so that we can continue to deliver world leading quality software at an increased rate.

In non-covid circumstances, this position is largely remote, with the development team expected to attend the office one day a month, though we encourage as often as possible.

As part of the recruitment process, you’ll participate in an offline coding task. 

For regulatory reasons applicants must be a UK resident.

The salary for this position will be based on experience and ability and discussed on application.

What are the key responsibilities? 

  • Develop and support the existing backend infrastructure
  • Design, Develop and Maintain new integrations with social media platforms
  • Maintain internal REST API used by the frontend team for the Orlo web application
  • Communicate with backend datastores (ElasticSearch, Redis, MySQL and AWS services like SQS)
  • Occasional internal third line support

What would Orlo love from you? 

  • Experienced PHP Programmer
  • Experience with high traffic applications
  • Good familiarity with software design patterns
  • Experience of any of the following is beneficial:
        • AWS (containers, ec2, job queues, s3)
        • ElasticSearch
        • Redis
        • and MySQL
